AUGMENTED REALITY

The Millennials, defined as those born in the 80s and 90s, are constantly connected to technology and social media whether through smartphones and tablets or desktop computers and notebooks. This group has come of age. They are now the decision-makers, the bread-winners and the entrepreneurs of today.

 

Augmented Reality (AR) offers a serious opportunity for marketers to reach this influential group of consumers. With augmented reality, we can take the physical world and combine it with the digital world giving brands the ability to engage with their consumers before, during and after making a purchase of their product.

REDEMPTION BY PENALTY KICK

The year 2014 was the year of the FIFA world cup Finals in Brazil. It presented a unique opportunity to launch a Real-Time, football-themed Augmented Reality Campaign developed and executed over just 48 hours.

 

Interestingly, four of the 16 knockout matches in this World Cup went into a penalty shoot-out. Malaysians had caught the football bug and penalty kicks were the subject of discussion in homes, offices and restaurants. Th common theme was “I could score the penalty easily!”

 

We, at Moving Walls, gave many of these people the opportunity to take their very own Penalty kick, right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. That too without using an actual football!

 

We partnered with the Tune Group to develop a penalty kick Augmented Reality game in the Engagement-Enabled screens in Pavilion, a major hub for the young, digital-savvy generation. We built a football frenzied atmosphere on the day of the final between Germany and Argentina with hundreds crowding for a chance to take a penalty kick, up to midnight. How many would score on the big screen? How many would wilt under pressure from the crowd? Watch the video to find out.

CHRISTMAS EVE AR

We launched another popular Augmented Reality campaign in 2014, starting in the month of December - Christmas season, to get Malaysians to join in the festive spirit.

 

Passers-by near our engagement screen at Pavilion could dance with Santa and Santarina and see themselves dancing on the big screen. Many people of all ages busted a move or two as the audience cheered them on. Pictures of audience members dancing with the virtual Santa and Santarina were posted on social media for those who wanted to save their joyous and memorable experience.

SOCIAL MEDIA FEEDS

Social media has already offered brands with the chance to directly engage with customers. Some have got it all figured out while many still struggle to make an impact on the social media stage. We at Moving Walls provide brands the opportunity to run integrated social media campaigns that can be featured on our screens. Our engagement screens have social media integration capabilities. We can make Facebook posts famous and give Tweets meaning. The common misconception is that people need to be on-the-ground, near our screens, to be able to engage with them. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Social media interaction means that many of our campaigns include participants from all over Malaysia, and even the rest of the world.

PETRONAS FORMULA WIN

We teamed up with Petronas and Zenith Optimedia to run a social media digital-outdoor campaign to celebrate Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Formula One championship win in 2014. They wanted to share this joyful moment with the rest of Malaysia to make them feel proud of the nation’s achievement and inadvertently build the spirit of unity.

 

The event centered on the interactive digital engagement screens at Pavilion where the theme was an interactive tweet campaign using #PETRONASFormulaWin via Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.  It was complemented with ground activities where there were prizes for selected tweets at intervals and promoters in F1 jump suits carrying iPads encouraging people to tweet their joy.

CATCH THE DIAMONDS

We faced a David vs Goliath challenge to position Hemera, an emerging diamond brand by Poh Kong, among industry leaders like Tiffany & Co, Tomei and Habib Jewels among others. Targeting young and affluent Malaysians, we used gamification and augmented reality integrated with social media over a two-week campaign period in collaboration with OMD. We developed “Catch the Diamonds” AR game and “Swipe the Diamonds” for mobile devices with sharing capability for social media. Watch how this integrated media campaign created a massive buzz for Hemera, both on-the-ground and in social media circles.

INTERACTIVE PLAYGROUND

A COMPLETE VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE

We provide a virtual indoor playground that allows multiple players to interact with colourful graphics and sounds projected onto floors or walls. A range of customized games that run on floor, wall, and glass and on smart phones can be developed.

ENDLESS ENTERTAINMENT

There is a wide variety of fun, active and educational games available to ensure that this technology appeals to all age-groups. These include playing a giant piano, popping balloons and even a challenging virtual football game. This has significant advantages over physical structures that limit players to just a few actions.

SAFE TO PLAY AND ENCOURAGES PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Your body is the controller. Various actions such as stepping, stomping or running can be used depending on the nature of the game. Digital games have a reputation of discouraging physical activity among young children. With an interactive playground, you get the best of both worlds – a digital gaming experience and active physical movement.

The virtual playground also eliminates the dangers posed by old, worn out structures and germs. People can enjoy the same level of outdoor activity in a controlled environment. The interactive playground also offers full access throughout the year. There will be no more staying-in during the rainy season.

 

We have already provided interactive playground technology to prominent fast-food outlets. Client boast that the technology is not only easy to use but requires minimal maintenance and supervision compared to the traditional playgrounds.
